  • I am getting married in only two weeks time and need a make-up artist but might have left it too late. Can you help?
Blush has a team dedicated to weddings and make-up lessons, and are often able to provide someone at short notice. Give us a call as soon as possible to discuss your requirements.
  • I have very sensitive skin – will Blush take this into account?
Blush will guide you through a thorough checklist where we note allergies etc. before we apply any products to your skin. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to voice any particular concerns you may have. We always carry a wide range of products to suit different skin types, including hypo-allergenic.
  • I would like to have great make-up for my wedding, but I’d rather a Blush representative didn’t attend on the day. What do you suggest?
Perhaps you are having a wedding in another country, would like someone close to you to apply your makeup, or have decided that you would like to do your own make-up on the day. If you prefer, prior to your wedding Blush can provide you and/or your friends with make-up lessons showing advanced techniques specifically tailored to bridal make-up. See Advanced Make-up Lessons for more information.
  • I would like a make-up lesson focused only on eye make-up / lips. Is this possible?
Blush normally provides lessons that are pre-structured to ensure a balance of all major areas of make-up. However, if you let us know in advance, we will do our best to create a custom lesson focused on your area(s) of interest. Please note that there may be an additional charge to cover extra preparation time required for custom make-up lessons.
  • I intend to have 6 bridesmaids at my wedding, all of whom will need make-up. Can you do this?
With advance notice, there is no limit to the number of people we will makeover. People requiring make-up who are not covered in the “Blushing Bride” bridal package are charged at £30 per person. It is especially important that timing is planned carefully with larger numbers of people.
  • I would like to purchase some of the make-up products used in my lesson. Do you sell them?
Blush does not sell any make-up products. Our intention is to provide the best makeovers and most honest advice we can: by not selling any make-up you can be absolutely sure that our recommendations are based on what works for you – not what it suits us to sell. With all our services you receive a personalised list of recommendations that you can take with you next time you buy make-up.
  • I am getting married outside London, can you recommend a hairdresser in my area as well as makeup?
Blush has worked with various excellent hairdressers around the UK, and would be delighted to recommend someone to you. We also offer hair for weddings outside of London using our own hairstylists, from Headmasters and Toni & Guy backgrounds. We recommend that we arrange for you to have a hair and make up trial at the same time, so you can see how the whole effect looks if this is possible.
  • How long does a bridal make-up trial last and what should I expect?
You should allow a minimum 90 minutes for your makeup trial. If more than one person is having a trial, allow an extra hour for each person. Blush will discuss with you the style of your dress and any ideas you have about the sort of make up look you want to go for. Your makeup trial will also include an assessment of your skin type and recommend products to suit your skin. Once you are happy with the look, we record all the makeup products used which we keep as a record for your makeup on the day and give to you of as part of your blush pack when you get married.
  • How long will my make-up take on the day and should I have hair or make up done first?
Your make up is easier to apply if your hair is off your face, we recommend having hair first if it is “hair up”, or makeup first if your hair is going to be washed first and left down. It will take approximately 45 mins to one hour for your make up, and 30 mins for each extra person.
There is no limit to the number of people that can have make up applied on the day and we can supply more than one makeup artist for large wedding parties.
  • Can I be sure that the make-up will last all day?
Blush only uses high-end cosmetics that are known for their durability, and all artists are trained to use makeup application techniques that would ensure you will have to take your makeup off at the end of the evening, rather than have to reapply during the day. The only product that you may have to top up would be your lipstick.
  • How much will I need to pay at the make-up trial?
Blush charges £50 for the brides trial in London and £25 for any others in your wedding party. If you decide at the trial that you would like to secure your wedding date, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is payable. The £50 is deducted from your final invoice which is payable one week before the wedding, or on the day.
  • Which areas do you cover?
Blush covers the whole of the UK and Europe for wedding and bridal make-up.
  • How soon in advance should I book my makeup trial?
You can have your trial any time you like, although we would suggest leaving it no later than one month before your wedding and no sooner than one year in advance.
  • What happens if I need to cancel a bridal makeup booking with you?
If you are canceling a trial appointment, you will not incur any charges. If you are canceling your wedding make up unfortunately your deposit will be lost, although, in exceptional circumstances, if it is more than 3 months in advance of your wedding date we can offer you a refund.
  • Where does the makeup trial take place?
If you are having a trial at Taylor Taylor in London we can arrange for your makeup trial to be there are the same time, otherwise the trial will be in your own home or at our studio in east London.
  • What happens if my makeup artist is unwell on my wedding day?
In the unlikely event that this should happen, we will always offer a stand in Blush makeup artist.
